Oregon MUTCD

Last updated June 15, 2026

A searchable, deep-linkable copy of Oregon MUTCD, the Oregon standard for traffic signs, signals, and pavement markings.

Oregon does not publish a standalone manual; it adopts the National MUTCD 11th Edition (Revision 1) and amends a specific set of sections via the Oregon Supplement to the MUTCD (effective June 1, 2026). This edition shows the full manual with Oregon's amendments applied inline. Looking for the federal manual instead? See the National MUTCD 11th Edition.

We’re Roundabout Technologies, and we built this because we kept needing to search the manual, jump to a specific section, and send a teammate a link to the exact paragraph we were looking at, and it was a real pain to do so with the source PDFs. We thought others would find it useful so we made it publicly available, and we hope it’s helpful!

What Roundabout does

We build AI-powered traffic signals that use cameras to build a real-time, super-detailed 3D map of all cars, bikes, buses and pedestrians, then use that map to make optimal signal change decisions at every moment, for single intersections and across road networks. If that sounds interesting, you can subscribe to our newsletter or reach out at roundabout.tech/contact. We’d love to hear from you.

How to use this edition

Use the nav or the search box to move around Parts 1 through 9 and the appendices. Every numbered section has its own stable link, so a part page plus #4C.03 drops you right on that section. Clicking the section header copies the link to that section. The Sign Code Index maps every sign code (R1-1, W1-1, EM2-1, …) to a picture of the sign and the section that defines it.

The 40 sections, figures, and tables that Oregon modifies are flagged Oregon-modified. Everything else is the unmodified National MUTCD.

Other editions

Many states publish their own MUTCD: the federal manual adopted with state-specific amendments. We mirror these the same way, each at its own permanent link:

  • National MUTCD 11th Edition, the federal base manual.
  • California MUTCD 2026, Caltrans’ adoption of the federal manual, amended for use in California (effective January 18, 2026).
  • Delaware MUTCD 2026, DelDOT’s adoption of the federal manual, amended for use in Delaware.
  • Arizona MUTCD 2026, the federal manual as amended by the Arizona Supplement (January 2026).
  • Colorado MUTCD, the federal manual with the Colorado Supplement applied (January 2026).
  • Washington MUTCD, the federal manual with Washington’s WAC 468-95 modifications applied (October 2025).
  • Illinois MUTCD, the federal manual with the Illinois Supplement applied (February 2026).
  • Michigan MUTCD 2025, MDOT’s 2025 Michigan MUTCD, a standalone adoption of the federal 11th Edition.
  • Wisconsin MUTCD, WisDOT’s standalone Wisconsin MUTCD, an adoption of the federal 11th Edition.

Unofficial convenience copy

This is not the official, controlling document. The authoritative texts are the Oregon source (https://www.oregon.gov/odot/Get-Involved/OTCDC/MUTCD11R1-OR-Supplement.pdf) and the National MUTCD from the Federal Highway Administration. We will keep this as accurate and current as we can.
